The Global LGBTQ+ Indoor Rowing Event

The Gay+ Lesbian Rowing Federation will host our sixth indoor rowing event, an ergatta, on Saturday/Sunday, 16 - 17 January 2027. We are expecting 300 – 500 LGBTQ rowers, and their family and friends for a packed, one-day event of individual and team erg competitions. The event is open to everyone, age 13 and older, gay, straight, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, men and women. Review our age, gender, weight, and adaptive categories here.
The event will be held at the Cambridge Recreation Center in Las Vegas in the gymnasium - start time is to be announced. The gym has two sets of roll out bleachers. Yes there is wifi. Yes there are changing rooms but no showers.
We will offer individual erg categories as well as team erg categories. Yes, team meaning there will be a heat and final for teams of 4x, and 8x, and the team 2x will direct to final. How does a team event work? Using the Concept2 Race software, multiple erg are assigned to one team, and the race shows the combined time of the entire team competing together, just like an on-the-water race. It is NOT a relay!!! For both the individual erg competitions and the team erg competiions, we will be using Concept2 RowErg ergometers.

For those indoor rowers who have never used Regatta Central, yes, you have to create an online profile but it is fast and easy, and free. Team erg competitions on Regatta Central will mirror a boat entry for an on the water regatta: a team (boat) name will be entered, and the names of the participants for the team entered. We have enabled club team names for ALL events so that participants can feel part of their group whether they are competing on their own or if they are with a group who is competing in the team categories. We encourage club team names to be creative, playful, and mildly baudy.
There will be day of registration - walk ons are most welcome! Entry fees will simply be a flat participant fee for each participant. The fee includes all event entries, a t-shirt, and a Sin City Classic wristband. The participant fee is $55 for early registration, $65 for regular registration, and $85 for late registration.. Early registration will open in October 2026 and will end in November 2026. Regular registration will begin in November 2026 and will end in December 2026. Late registration will begin in December 2026 and will end in January 2027.
There are no per event fees. Everything is included in the individual participant fee.
We want to encourage everyone to compete in both the individual erg races and the team erg races. That is also why we have set the distance for the team events at 1000 meters so that rowers can participate in multiple events!

The Sin City Erg and the Sin City Classic
The Sin City Erg is an indoor rowing event (ergatta) hosted by the Gay + Lesbian Rowing Federation (GLRF). This is the fifth year (2026) for the ergatta. Mirroring the GLRF online community, the event is open to anyone 13 years and older, male, female, gender fluid and non-binary, and of course inclusive to all sexual orientations as well as the broader rowing community
The ergatta is one of 24 sports taking place at the Sin City Classic, January 15 - 19, 2026. The Sin City Classic is the largest annual LGBTQ+ multi-sport event in the world. What started as a softball tournament in 2007 has grown to include 24 additional sports.
The Gay + Lesbian Rowing Federation is a worldwide online, inclusive community for lgbtq+ rowers, indoor rowers, coxies, coaches, and race officials. register.glrf.info
However you participate in the rowing community, be it through a regatta or national rowing association, with a regular club, on a school team, as an independent sculler, or on a national training team, GLRF provides a means to connect all of us.
